Lewis Media Group is committed to treating any data received from employees, job candidates, contractors, clients, suppliers, stakeholders, and other interested parties securely and confidentiality. With this policy we commit to ensuring that we gather, store and handle data fairly, transparently and with respect towards our legal obligations and individual rights. This policy applies to all employees, contractors and consultants of Lewis Media Group and its subsidiaries.
Collection and Use
As part of the general operations of Lewis Media Group we need to obtain and process information. This information includes any offline or online data that makes a person identifiable such as names, addresses, usernames and passwords, digital footprints, photographs, and financial data. Information will be collected in a transparent way and only with the full cooperation and knowledge of the interested parties.
Lewis Media Group will collect only information which is required for the effective function of the organisation, such as essential employee details and client contact information, and will not collect sensitive information without consent.

To exercise effective data protection Lewis Media Group will:

• Ensure lost, corrupted or compromised data is promptly reported to those affected.
• Utilise data protection measures including document shredding, data encryption, frequent backups and access authorisations.
• Comply with requests to modify, erase or correct data unless there are legal obligations on the company to maintain the record.
Use and Disclosure
Lewis Media Group will only use or disclose information for the primary purpose for which it was collected or a directly related secondary purpose. Personal information will only be used for direct marketing where the person would reasonably expect it to be used for this purpose and an opt out has been provided and not taken up. Lewis Media Group will provide all individuals access to their own personal information unless legally authorised to refuse and if a person can establish that the information held is inaccurate steps will be taken to correct it.

Destruction
Lewis Media Group will destroy information that has been collected and stored once it does not assist the organisation to perform its primary operation. Individuals can request to have personal information deleted and this will be granted wherever practicable. In certain circumstances it may be necessary to refuse requests to access, amend or delete personal information such as when there are legal obligations to maintain the record. If a request is refused a reason for the decision will be provided.
Review
Lewis Media Group intends to review this Data Protection Policy at the start of each calendar year. We aim to continue to assess the effectiveness of our approach and monitor and act to fulfill our responsibilities to our employees, contractors, clients and the broader community.
